There are various camps to meet the different requirements and levels of players.
Fun Camp Improver - Fun badminton activity for those who are able to play the game and would like to improve their skills Fun Camp Beginner - Fun camp to develop some of the skills for those who are learning the game

while some play based on school term times, August to June.
There are hardly any that play the whole year round!
I suppose that's where the Council venues come into play ...

However, both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire do run training for younger children. Please go to the respective website and enter "Badminton" in the search field ... something will come up !!

There is a Badminton Beginners Class for 8 years old and upwards.
This is at Bridge of Don Academy on Thursdays, 6:15pm to 7:30pm.
Some adult players and parents can play, though not necessarily with their children.
Prices are £0.70 for Juniors and £1.00 for Adults. Equipment is available too.

Open to Competitive junior and adult players - coach led games sessions.
Runs each Monday, 7:30 to 9:30pm, from 30th June to 11th Aug. Just as a matter of interest, I managed to attend one of these sessions. What a great bunch of players! Even if just a few stick at it, the current "old guard" better watch out!

Over 50 competitors from most clubs in the Aberdeen and District Badminton League participated in the annual handicapped club doubles tournament at Northfield Academy on Sunday 3rd February 2008.
An enjoyable days badminton was had by all with some very close fought matches and the prizes going to a number of clubs.
