Badminton; a sport that demands excellent fitness: players
require aerobic stamina, agility, strength, speed and precision.
It is also a technical sport, requiring good motor coordination
and the development of sophisticated racquet movements.

Or .... it can be played for fun in the back garden !!

Your help is requested to make staff and others who may have an interest in becoming or are already involved with junior badminton aware of the course. If you are thinking of setting up junior badminton group session/junior pay and play etc.. this course would be ideal for the members of staff or volunteers involved.

The course is the first step on the badminton coaching ladder and is suitable for all those introducing the game to and working with young players. It is packed with fun ideas, tips and useful games along with how to use limited spaces, with elements of H&S intertwined throughout the course. (more details are on the attached registration form). Many of the ideas can be cross pollinated and used when delivering other activities.

In North East we usually run two of these per year along with one UKCC level 1 per year and a UKCC Level 2 every second or third year. This will be the third Badminton Basics Course this year and has been added to the Coach Education calendar at the particular request of our colleagues in the Northern half of Grampian.

Not only is it a great course for those working with young children in varying scenarios it is an essential pre-requisite for UKCC Level 1 badminton along with a Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate. Badminton is a popular sport within Grampian where along with other local authority and leisure trusts we endeavour to deliver a range of courses throughout the year.

Developing confident and proficient coaches/staff is key as they are essential for teaching and developing players at every level of sport.
